- 1/2 cup Sour Cream (Full-fat recommended for best flavor.)
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar (Adjust to taste.)
- 2 large Eggs (Room temperature.)
- 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour (Spoon into measuring cup for accuracy.)
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda (Ensure freshness.)
- 1 pinch Salt (A pinch is sufficient.)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Nuts (Walnuts recommended for crunch.)
- 1 cup Chocolate Chips (Semi-sweet adds contrast with tanginess.)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash 3-4 ripe bananas until smooth, leaving a few chunks.
- Combine the mashed bananas with 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 large eggs. Stir until creamy, about 2 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Fold this mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for approximately 60 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
Notes
- This banana bread can be frozen for up to 3 months.
