Description

Delicious chicken lasagna with layers of savory chicken filling, creamy béchamel sauce, and melted cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 912 lasagna noodles, cooked according to package instructions
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add shredded chicken, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until thickened. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Spread a thin layer of white sauce on the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  7. Layer noodles, chicken filling, white sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with white sauce and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Create a one-pot meal by adding spinach or vegetables to the filling.
  • Use no-boil lasagna noodles for a quicker assembly.
