Description
A quick and delicious stir-fry featuring tender chicken and crisp broccoli, perfect served over rice or noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 1 broccoli crown, cut into florets
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a small bowl, toss the sliced chicken with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a dash of sesame oil. Let it sit while you prepare the rest—this helps tenderize the chicken and gives it that velvety texture typical in stir fry dishes.
- Blanch the Broccoli: Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 1–2 minutes until they turn bright green. Drain and set aside. This keeps the broccoli crisp yet tender when stir-fried.
- Stir Fry the Chicken: Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and stir until fragrant—just a few seconds. Toss in the marinated chicken and stir-fry until it turns golden and is cooked through, about 4–5 minutes.
- Add Broccoli and Sauce: Return the broccoli to the pan. Add the oyster sauce and a splash of water to help everything come together. Stir-fry for another 1–2 minutes until everything is well coated in sauce.
- Finish and Serve: Drizzle a bit more sesame oil over the top before serving. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles for a complete, satisfying meal.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes while stir-frying.
- Feel free to substitute chicken with shrimp or tofu as a protein alternative.
